My The Thing helicopter died and I was contemplating getting another copter.
Do folks use them much really? I see people flying their quads around but rarely see copters taking folks here and there. Suggestions, ideas, comments?? also, I see you can buy a gun for it as well and hunt? Is this more of a fad thing or is it fairly effective? thank you in advance. sluggo |

personally i use my chopper when i do tp run or when i bring new players to OLA 42, but most of the time i use my quad cause the ship is cooler and faster. I dont buy gun for my chopper i found it useless, maybe it cost to much for the result it can give.
If you have lot of friend and you go on a hunt/event, chopper can be good otherwise you have to buy a quad if you have enough money (EP is there for that :D)

Either or. They are all the same on fuel use.
You can carry more people in a heli, but if you are going by yourself, just use a Sliep or Quad. Quite frankly I have no idea why they are adding these modern cars and helicopters and such. Stay with the theme. Use futuristic off planet type of vehicles.

I don't think you can hunt with these guns, i think they are for PVP.

Well, the helicopters for arena fighting yes, but the dragonfly is it? that one i think you can use for regular hunting, uses explosive ammo.
I think that is the only 'non arena' copter i seen really sluggo |

The slepnir is more fuel efficient then either helicopter when flying in atmosphere.
Granted the gungnir can hold up to 6 passangers. From Camp Icarus to Orthos west mound is 2.86km Sleipnir: 2.98minutes / .07 ped Gungnir mk1 : 3.18 minutes / .09ped Quadwing : 2.67minutes / .12ped dragonfly : 3.18min / .9ped PS: The ONLY vehicle weapons you can kill mobs with and loot are the quad wing's kismet laser and heavy porcupine and this is only VS space mobs. ALL OTHER vehicle weapons CANNOT be used to hunt monsters

I own both the sleip and the gungir. I have the porcupine for the gungir and have done killing runs at the oil rig(ashi) and I don't have a weapon for hunting mobs in space. id love to own a gun and hunt the space mobs for ped. The sleip is eco and fuel efficient and have been to Cyrene and Rocktropia with it.

i now own three flying vehicles (gungir, sleip, and quad). i dont have a gun for my sleip, but i do have guns for my quad, and i still do believe i have my friends porcupine for my gungir. Im contemplating finishing the Hunt for the thing for a second copter.

im working on finishing up the dragonfly copter from Cyrene, then possibly working on the spear, or the pigv before i head back, or even to Ark or Rt.

Probably have more fun on Ark. RT is essentially dead. Many people have moved off there really. Loot been crappy at best.
