OK, the daily token trader (Caly) has some really nice guns etc, but the daily missions tend to be tough for a newbie, however the Daily Hunter Gribnib/Chripy Bonus is an excellent opportunity for new players to make quick tokens.

If you want the 20 daily tokens (enough for one of the lower level guns from the trader) you're going to have to kill 10 birdies. So what you say, easy, they don't even fight back! Well no, but they do run away very, very well, out running newbies and costing ped to the inexperienced hunter. But with the right set-up those little birds are the easiest 20 tokens you'll ever make.

Get the Chirpy or Gribnib mission from the daily mission terminal (if you don't get a birdie bonus mission abandon the mission and try agian tomorrow), then head out to where the mobs are.

I find 3rd person view is good for this with a gun hotkeyed to whatever key works for you.

First, make sure move to target when interacting is turned on. Next, select a birdie as a target (click with cursor or cycle target commands), get close and shoot. As the bird runs away, quickly turn and run after it, keeping it half-ways lined up with where your ava's aiming. Take your finger off of W and quickly fire. The system will correct your aim. Now run again as you reload. Pause and shoot as soon as your gun cycles. Rinse and repeat until its bye-bye birdie.

If you get a failed to move within interaction range message when you try to shoot, ignore it and try again (unless the mob has run beyond weapon's range, in which case just stop. The birdie will run out to around 80m ahead of you and drop off of radar. When the red dot disappears the mob has stopped and you can run right up to it and start blasting away again.

My own hunting experience was with Gribnib Mature to Guardian and I had no trouble using just a Sollomate Opalo w/ B101(L) for 9 damage at 44 attacks a minute.  I would expect Young and Mature birdies (10 & 20 hp) to be huntable in this manner with even an un-amped Rubio or Azuro.

I've had like 4 of these in the same spot in the missions for a while (though now that I think of it I might have abandoned them).  My problem is usually finding the mobs.

If these are for daily tokens do they follow the restriction of gauntlet, that you won't get a token if you have a skill 10+?

No, the daily hunter missions have no level restrictions. But most of them are of the "hunt 50-60 of these 50-150hp at starting maturity mobs" for Daily Hunter 1.  I finished a daily hunter 1 of this type (Plumatergus to be specific), and won one whole token. The birdie bonus missions seem to fall in the Daily hunter 2 category. I don't know if DH2 usually drops 20 tokens on completion, but normal mobs in the DH2 category are usually like 500hp kinda thing. So, unless you have a 50 damage gun that sucks 20 odd pec ammo a shot, the DH2 is kinda moot other than the birdie bonus missions.

Here are links for the Daily Hunter 1:

Daily Hunter 2:

Daily Hunter 3:

http://www.entropedia.info/Info.aspx?chart=Mission&name=The_Daily_Hunter_Category_3_(Daily)

Notice that each of these has a Bonus Mission, and that the Bonus is either 10 Chirpys, 10 GibNibs or 10 Fugabarbas.  Each of these Bonus missions pays out 20 tokens on completion.  I always take all three Daily Hunter missions every day, in the hopes of getting a Bonus, even though I'm no where near skilled or weaponed enough to complete the Daily 2 or Daily 3 normal missions.

If I don't get the bonus, I abandon the mission and go back the next day.  Doing this has gotten me over 100 tokens strictly from doing bonus missions.  As well as more tokens from doing the daily 1 mission and getting the tokens from Gauntlet.

One thing I suggest before buying your new gun, is to check the skill requirements.  Don't get a gun that has a requirement significantly higher than you are.  You will be able to use it, but at a huge increase in cost and loss of efficiency.  (Which means you are spending more ammo per shot than using the right weapon!)  We're all here to make ped, and using the wrong gun means you are pouring added ped out the barrel of that gun....  :)  Just because it does 100 damage per shot (potential) doesn't make it the one you need...

HTH!

El!
