I need some advice here, because I really don't know what to do.
There aren't many tasks available to me on CrowdFlower, because I'm a new user, I suppose. Anyway, I have a serious accuracy problem: I almost always end up expelled from tasks because they "correct" something I did absolutely right. As a consequence, the tasks available to me are reduced more and more. I read and followed precisely the instructions. I explained that my "errors" weren't errors at all, at the end of each task. I even opened tickets. The result is the same: accuracy reduced to 75%, expelled from tasks, no corrections, no new tasks available. What can I do?

Well, you have done most of what can be done, by filing tickets. They will answer them, but in their time frame. If they do not, your only recourse is to keep going.
I know that all of their tasks are not right all of the time, and some are just plain, wtf moments on their part. I would suggest, if you have a task and you are afraid of screwing up your accuracy rating, ask in here first, before you do that task. We have all gone through the same tasks, or types of tasks. Use the community for advice on the best way to handle certain tasks. We are here to help if you need us. The other option, is to get a new account under a different name and start over. It's a lot of work, but I know a lot of ppl have done it because of the same reason. |

Don't be afraid to ask on any task. Even if it's in your country only. We have people from all over the world here.

I think there is no point of new acc. Also, you can get banned for that and that would be a lot worse than write some tickets.
And afcorse there is a lot of tasks that will ruin your accuracy. Get enough proof on them and open ticket. When they finaly get to you, they will fix your accuracy, if enough materials were sent. I started with like 2 jobs per weak, but than i went to lvl2 and it all changed, so, you just need to be patient and carfull with tasks you do. |

I think you're right, a new account is not a viable solution.
I thought about it, and my problem is that it would be impossible for me to ask here for advice: they always correct me something I do following instructions. E.G., the instructions for the task "Help us identify articles and authors" states that a series of articles is not to be marked as an article. I do exactly that, and they correct me. How can I imagine I am doing something potentially wrong, when I am following their instructions? The instructions are very clear, I never have any doubt about what I am doing. So, tipically, I have to open ticket after ticket, hoping they would consider to fix my accuracy situation. Well, I'll be patient.

The point here is that the intructions they give arent really clear OR the person who comes up with
the answers for them is basically retarded. Its been an issue with CF tasks for a long time that they correct you on things which werent wrong. Simple example everyone has had once probably at least are the language specific tasks. Where translations are requested. Sometimes the translations dont make sense at all which they state it should be. A ticket can help, sadly enough it doesnt always. However I would always advice making a ticket |

My biggest accuracy thief are those 10pec "which product matches" tasks. It seems like 10% of the test questions were done by someone who didn't even read the instructions for the task. The instructions say perfect match only, same size, color, brand, quantity etc. then the test questions say no match for items that match perfectly and match up items with obvious differences and then correct you for not getting the right "wrong" answer.

And on the point of deleting accounts, they have told me that I will not be able to make a new one after that... So I will keep mine, even though they took away all my badges... :(

Oh ick that one. I feel you. Here's the way I generally handle stuff using that job as an example, but don't quote me. 1. try to get a sense of whether they are asking for something impossible or stupid. Also be aware of the test requirements and how strict they are. But this is a stew. A really strict test requirement with a painless easy task is no big deal. I've quit testing in the middle after my BS meter got high enough. There doesn't appear to be any penalty for that. (Sometimes I hit 'give up' but it's not a good habit for me so usually I just walk off and/or close the window, timing out. To the best of my observation all timing out really does is make a timestamp too old. It's a data check they do, standard web stuff to make sure things are happening when you think they are.) I don't remember that news article task testing being weird. 2. I've also done the same in the middle of a task, getting a feeling that there's one that just too sketchy to risk answering. For 1 and 2, have your hinky-smeller running. It's a lot like EU - if it's not feeling fun, stop. The more aggravating it feels, think about ditching. I think I did ditch the article job once or twice and come back to it later. Later usually means the next time they add more or 6 hours or more later on larger jobs, then the task you were about to take has been 'done enough' out of the queue. 3. Just plain tasks and jobs count, not as much as accuracy, but they do. So go ahead and flub around on the freebies you can find that don't care about accuracy. You won't hurt yourself but having the tasks and jobs counters tick up is always good. 4. Did you take the entry exam? If you start clicking the CF links like dashboard, eventually that link pops up. I don't know why it doesn't every time, and maybe you've missed it. If you couldn't get enough love out of the entry exam to at least get pretty darned close to level 2, I'm not sure what to tell you. You're not going to get far arguing with CF about their own pre-checked test jobs. I did tell them that their phrasing on whether a tweet was related to a company or product it didn't even mention needed some clarification, they gave me a generic unusable response. |
